Lead Acid Battery Recycling
Our plants for upcycling lead-acid batteries links the EU (central Italy) and the Middle East (Israel)
The upcycled material we produce enhances the energy density and life cycle of a new battery by up to 40%, which represents a significant advancement in battery technology
In smelting, the waste active material is incinerate in a furnace at high temperatures. Our patented process operates at room temperature, eliminating the need for incineration. Instead of reducing the waste active material to lead metal and then oxidizing it to leady oxide, we directly convert the waste material into leady oxide – ready to be used in battery manufacturing
As a result of our process innovation, we achieve 85% reduction in the carbon footprint of lead acid battery recycling
The energy savings in our process is equivalent to 2500 tons of coal for every 10,000 tons of batteries processed
Our process drastically cuts waste, reducing landfill volume by more than 90% from today’s legacy lead recyclers
Our process was developed at the University of Cambridge (UK) labs and has been proven at scale
